New York Attorney General Charged With Federal Bank Fraud Indictment
A national judicial panel brought charges against Letitia James over allegations of bank fraud this past Thursday, as stated by someone with knowledge of the case.
The US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia directly submitted the charges to the grand jury this Thursday, the person said.
Federal prosecutors do not typically address a grand jury.
Halligan took over the position the previous month following Donald Trump grew impatient regarding the progress in ongoing probes targeting political opponents.
This action is the president’s latest effort to weaponize federal justice authorities to punish adversaries.
It follows 14 days after charges were filed against James Comey.
Experienced attorneys drafted a memorandum for that matter detailing why indictments were not warranted.
Comey entered a not guilty plea on Wednesday.
